Kingston, Jamaica — May 31, 2026
On Sunday, May 31, Mustard Seed Communities celebrated a landmark moment as two members of its Formation Program were ordained to the Sacred Priesthood, deepening the spiritual foundation that inspires MSC’s care for children and adults living with disabilities.
At the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in Kingston, hundreds gathered to pray with Fr. Louis Dalmas Agan and Fr. Roger Goodwill as they made their final vows to the Catholic Church.
Archbishop Kenneth D. Richards, DD, CD, presided over the ordination, with dozens of priests from around the globe concelebrating: a powerful sign of the wider Church’s support for these two men and their vocation.
Always during a Mass in which the Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist are celebrated, the bishop lays hands on each candidate, invoking the Holy Spirit and conferring the grace needed for priestly ministry.
The ceremony marks the beginning of a priest’s commitment to serving God and others through ministry, leadership, and pastoral care.
Fr. Dalmas and Fr. Roger are now the fourth and fifth members of MSC’s own canonical body, the Missionarii Grani Sinatis (Mustard Seed Missionaries), a Society of Apostolic Life that sustains the spiritual mission at the core of MSC’s work.
They join Msgr. Gregory Ramkissoon, founder; Fr. Garvin Augustine, MSC International Executive Director; and Fr. Ernest Chikwata, Missions Manager, ordained priests whose lives are given entirely in service to MSC’s residents.
The Mass, filled with a spirit of deep relationships and hope for the future, was a joyful celebration on a hot afternoon. Spectacular music from the choir and organist enriched the liturgy.
Following the ordination was a reception at Stella Maris Catholic Church. The seamless celebration reflected months of dedicated work by staff and volunteers from the Archdiocese of Kingston and MSC, men and women whose efforts behind the scenes helped bring the day’s holiness to life.
Meet the Priests
Growing up in Kenya, Fr. Dalmas spent time with students at a local school for children with disabilities, an experience that shaped his calling. When he discovered MSC’s mission of serving individuals with disabilities, he recognized where he belonged. He joined MSC Zimbabwe in 2018 and began his formation in 2019.
Fr. Dalmas now serves as administrator at Blessed Assurance in Montego Bay, where he has already shown remarkable pastoral courage, leading the community through Hurricane Melissa.
Born in Jamaica and raised in the Catholic faith, Fr. Roger first encountered MSC in 2011 through an invitation from Fr. Garvin Augustine to “come and see” the work across MSC’s communities. What moved him most was how MSC’s spirituality was inseparable from its care for residents with disabilities: faith was the source of the entire transformative mission.
He completed his Philosophy Studies in the Dominican Republic and his Theological Studies in Florida, and is fluent in four languages. Fr. Roger now leads MSC’s Spirituality Office in Jamaica.
Blessings Ahead
Both priests trained at St. Andrew’s Formation House on the property of Jacob’s Ladder, which has capacity for twelve priests and seminarians. Priests ordained as Mustard Seed Missionaries are shaped for the priesthood with the particular mission of serving individuals with disabilities with Christ-like tenderness.
