Father Garvin Augustine: Executive Director, MSC International

Father Garvin Augustine serves as a Catholic priest within Mustard Seed Communities (MSC), holding the role of Executive Director for Mustard Seed Communities International. In this capacity, he oversees operations and manages finances across multiple countries, including Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. As a board member for MSC in each of these nations and on the MSC USA Board, Father Augustine plays a crucial role in steering the organization.

His journey with MSC began in 1996 when he joined the family. During his tenure, Father Augustine dedicated his expertise in project management to the development of a newly acquired property in Spanish Town, Jamaica, now known as Jerusalem!. After five years of service as Administrator of Jerusalem! and taking promises as a Brother of Mustard Seed Communities, he embarked on a mission to Zimbabwe in 2002. Over the next five years, Father Augustine transformed MSC Zimbabwe from a small youth group into a comprehensive program, providing nutrition, education, and residential care to over 500 children daily.

In 2007, confident in the sustainability of MSC Zimbabwe, Father Augustine pursued a three-year seminary program in Rome. After earning a degree in Theology, he was ordained a Deacon in June 2010, followed by priestly ordination in Kingston in January 2011. Currently based at Mahoe Drive—the headquarters of MSC International—in Kingston, Jamaica, Father Augustine envisions a future for MSC where young people are committed to serving as missionary brothers, sisters, and priests across all MSC countries. He is dedicated to preserving the original mission and vision of Msgr. Gregory, the founder, ensuring the continued inspiration for planting and nurturing the seed of faith wherever MSC is called to serve.
