The Wheelchair Team: Mission Volunteers

The Wheelchair Team works tirelessly to assess the mobility needs of each resident, prescribe the right wheelchair, and source the necessary equipment. Each donated wheelchair is carefully rebuilt and customized to fit its new owner’s unique needs.

At Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) Jamaica alone, more than 200 children and adults depend on wheelchairs for their daily mobility. Once the rebuilt chairs are shipped to Jamaica, our team returns to personally fit each resident into their “new” chair. We also repair existing wheelchairs and train staff in proper seating and maintenance to ensure lasting comfort and mobility.
