Meet Chrisagaye

Chrisagaye is a resident of Jerusalem who is beloved by her friends, caregivers, staff, and mission volunteers.

Chrisagaye’s story is one of perseverance, dedication, and hard work. She is hearing impaired and communicates with sign language, all the while making a positive impact in the MSC Family.

In particular, Chrisagaye makes an impact in the laundry department at Jerusalem Village. Jeruasalem runs a program that empowers residents to earn income for their work in the community. Her enthusiastic work in the laundry department’s program has made a great change in Chrisagaye’s self-esteem—she is always eager to help and arrives on time, ready to make a difference.

Claudette Angus, Therapy Coordinator at Jerusalem, remarks that Chrisagaye takes intentional breaks for Holy Rosary prayer and displays a lot of pride in her work.

“Chrisagaye’s work ethic and dedication to her job are truly inspiring,” Ms. Angus says. “She holds her superior accountable if clothing is not washed on time for her to hang out on the line to dry.”

Her work and social life are truly blossoming with a new sense of independence. Outside of the laundry room, Chrisagaye enjoys writing in her journal and spending time with mission volunteers.

Chrisagaye’s story is a testament to the fact that with hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude, we can achieve our goals and become our best selves. She is an inspiration to us all!
