"I had already had a picture of the trip in my mind. I had already known I was going to experience something great, but my ideas were so incredibly different from the reality I experienced. I never imagined the smiles I would see on these children who were so innocent and happy. I never knew holding their hands and speaking short phrases to them in Spanish would make them laugh and feel so loved. But it was not what I did for them, but what those children did for me. Seeing their conditions and yet the happiness that shone upon their faces filled me with tears. I couldn't wait every day until I got to see them and play with them. They are what changed me, and I couldn't be any more grateful for that!"
