Jacob's Ladder in Jamaica

My time spent at Jacob's Ladder was unbelievably life-changing. This was the first mission trip I had ever been on and I encountered Christ in the faces of every single resident there. The joy the residents found in the simplest things made me realize how I need to take a step back and appreciate the smallest things in life. Not only was I able to interact with the residents but I also painted communities and helped pour concrete. Contributing to areas around the villages and communities as well is what can make a difference.

The residents are filled with Jesus's love, and their outpouring of compassion, happiness, joy, fun, and laughter on the volunteers makes these experiences so meaningful and lifelong. I truly appreciate what the people at Mustard Seed are doing for those in the surrounding areas.

I am impacted in so many ways from this trip. I became closer with the staff and was able to get to know them on a friend-to-friend basis. The growth of these relationships opened the doors to so many more. This trip also confirmed my passion and goals for the future for working with individuals who have special needs or physical/mental disabilities. I am blessed to have partaken on a mission trip at Jacob's Ladder and I am looking forward to working with the residents again and encountering Christ in the faces of many.
