"I'm a Sophomore at Tufts University. Upon coming to the Dominican Republic, I was struck by the dedicated, hardworking staff. They spend so much time and energy with the children, whom they consider to be part of their family. They know each child by name and the children are always so happy to see them. It was great to spend time with the children as well. While most of them cannot speak or walk, they often find their own ways to respond to our attention and to express their excitement at seeing us. One of the girls loves hugs and will hold onto you for as long as possible."
