When Msgr. Gregory founded the mission program, his aim was clear. Given that the children are abandoned and have a variety of disabilities, feeling loved is especially critical to their well-being. Since he couldn't bring the children to the world, he decided to bring the love of the world to the children." – Fr. Tony Gomez, St. Linus Church, Norwalk, CA

Mission Inquiry FormTypes of Trips
School and Parish Groups: Are you a high school or university looking for an international service and mission experience for your students? You may be a parish leader looking to start a trip with your parish youth group or adult members in the community. We offer opportunities to all communities, welcoming youth 15 or older on our mission trips. Currently groups can choose from any of our four locations in Jamaica or one location in the Dominican Republic. We offer trips year round, including high school and university breaks.
Medical Teams: Are you a medical professional looking to serve vulnerable populations? We welcome both medical professionals and student groups. We offer opportunities to university therapy, nursing, social work, and pharmacy groups. Students get very real first hand experience with multiple medical needs and assist in training our caregivers with the latest medical expertise in the field. We also welcome teams of medical professionals who are trained in all aspects of therapy, speech, and wheelchair adaptation to assist us in providing the best care for the residents.
Building Teams: We are always looking for volunteer teams with specialties in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, landscaping, etc. to help us with building and repairs at Mustard Seed Communities. If you are interested in joining one of these teams or starting your own, we would love to have you use your talents to help us provide the best facilities for the residents.
Retreat Teams: Are you looking for an experience that involves service and time spent on retreat? We offer groups the flexibility to stay at our retreat property, Zachariah’s House, as well as visit and serve at our residential homes during their stay in Jamaica. This option gives you the opportunity to relax and reflect, while also introducing you to the joy of the residents and our homes.
