On May 4th, the Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) family gathered both physically and virtually to celebrate the life of our Founder, Monsignor Gregory Ramkissoon, who turned 70 years old.

It is no secret that Msgr. Gregory has impacted thousands of lives around the world, having started MSC when he was just 26 years old. During the day, over 150 people gathered to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving. Residents from all over Jamaica came to celebrate with Monsignor, along with staff, board members, and volunteers from all around the world. It was truly a beautiful day to remember and celebrate all of the work Msgr. Gregory has accomplished to make the world a better place.

One of the most touching moments during this celebration was when Keemo, a resident of Matthew 25:40, spoke about the impact Msgr. Gregory has had on his life and the lives of all the residents of MSC world-wide. Read Keemo’s heartfelt message below.

Each year, your birthday reminds us how grateful we are that you are OUR father.

A father not only to us, but, everyone you have crossed paths with.

A father so genuine, dedicated, protective, hilarious and ever so humble.

A father who stands with pride.

A father who loves and stands against hate; giving voice to “the voiceless”. This was only a dream forty four (44) years ago.

With all that is happening around the world today, we’re thankful that you have protected and provided for us; a roof over our heads, meals, loving caregivers and a sense of community.

I adopt the words of Maya Angelo… “Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.”

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.. -1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

Look around you, today’s representation tells all!

You are the beacon of light, inspiring us with your wisdom, grace and strength.

Monsignor, we are forever grateful for the sacrifices you have and continue to make for our benefit.

We wish for you peace and continued blessings.

With love from all of your children.  Happy Birthday.
