Every day is filled with possibility

You are here

Kimoya has made incredible strides during her time with MSC

If you have traveled to Gift of Hope, an apostolate of Mustard Seed Communities in Mandeville, Jamaica, surely you have met Kimoya.

Kimoya is 7 years old and loves school, reading and helping her fellow residents. She was 2 years old when she arrived at Mustard Seed Communities in 2016. Kimoya is hearing impaired and, at first, she was not able to walk far without falling down. With physical therapy and leg splints fitted for her, Kimoya is now walking and running around Gift of Hope. She has had hearing tests and will soon receive a hearing aid.

Recently Kimoya began attending the Caribbean Christian School for the Deaf. While there, her teachers have remarked that due to the care, love, and attention she receives at Mustard Seed Communities she has become a confident young girl. She has advanced further in her education than her teachers expected  and received the ranking of first in her class. Her language skills are progressing and her caregivers and teachers believe that with continued speech therapy and sign language she will be able to speak fully. Every day is a new day filled with possibilities for Kimoya.
