Several years ago Brother Ernest Chikwata began serving at Mustard Seed Communities Zimbabwe. First as part of the youth choir, and then his involvement increased to helping with the nutrition program. As his faith grew, he knew there was more to his connection with Mustard Seed. This inkling of faith led him to the decision to join the Mustard Seed Missionaries - a Canonical body, or Society of Apostolic Life, which was formed to guide and promote the spirituality of Mustard Seed Communities all over the world.
After many years of study, prayer, and discernment, Brother Ernest is prepared to take the next step in his journey towards priesthood. On February 2nd, 2022, Brother Ernest will be ordained a Transitional Deacon. The ordination will take place at Jacob’s Ladder at 10:30 A.M., and will be live streamed via Mustard Seed Communities Facebook page. For those who do not have Facebook, the recording will be saved on our Youtube page following the Mass.
To learn more about Brother Ernest, you can watch this interview where he shares his personal discernment story.
Mustard Seed Communities’ formation program is an important aspect of the work we do, and plays a pivotal role in the sustainability of the organization. Please pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
