Education
We can think of no one more vulnerable than our children. With our motto in our minds and a burning desire in our hearts our visionaries came to one consensus that there needed to be a schooling system that would stand out among the best of our society. We drew upon the resources of our dedicated sponsors and donors and thus came the birth of Little Angel's Learning Centre.
At Little Angel's we not only facilitate the children from the apostolates where we are located but also from the communities surrounding each of these apostolates. We were officially recognized by the Ministry of Education as a basic school on September 2, 2002. Our Angels are turned into "super stars" because of our teacher to student relationship. Truly guided by our motto "WE CARE, WE SHARE, WE AIM TO ACHIEVE".
At Little Angel's we aim to provide the very best for our children. They are taught to develop their mental, physical and spiritual selves. We are provided with an annual curriculum by Ministry of Education that is distributed on a monthly basis. This allows us to teach using an integrated approach as well as the student-based approach.
The children are exposed to, and participate in special classes such as: Religious Education, Music, Spanish, Computer Studies, Physical Education as well as Montessori. What is Montessori? Montessori allows children the freedom to move, touch, manipulate, and explore with special materials independently, which builds concentration and self-discipline. Guided by teachers and donors from Holland, the Montessori approach has been doing very well.
Regular field trips are held, which aids in allowing our children to be more exposed to our culture and National Heritage. Spirituality plays a vital role in both the lives of the teachers and the children. Both Mass and adoration are attended weekly. We also attend a monthly Day of Recollection and an annual retreat.
Our future mission is aimed at housing a Little Angel's in all our overseas apostolates (Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Zimbabwe).
We will endeavor to live by the word from the book of Proverbs 2 vs. 6. "True education is that imparted by him with whom is wisdom and strength."
