Zimbabwe
Mustard Seed Communities was established in Zimbabwe in July 2002 to assist with the care of children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Mustard Seed is located on ten acres of property on the outskirts of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The property includes a school, chapel, health clinic, a home for children affected by HIV/AIDS, and a home for children with disabilities. Three acres of the property are used for farming and poultry rearing. The produce, eggs, maize, vegetables, and chicken, supplement the children’s dietary requirements. A bakery has also been started, to provide bread for all our programs with the surplus sold to provide income.
The mission of Mustard Seed Communities in Zimbabwe is to look after as many children as possible. Mustard Seed has established and maintains four nutrition programs which provide a daily meal to over 500 children who would otherwise go hungry; three pre-schools which accommodate 200 children and provide them with basic education as well as two daily meals.

Freedom Home
With an ever growing population of children orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS and an increasing number of child headed households, the need for housing and care for these children continues to grow.
The Freedom home cares for twenty-nine children giving them the opportunity to live their lives under proper care ensuring them the best possible social, physical, medical, and educational services. Fourteen of the children attend Little Angels preschool and eight are in primary school.

Health Clinic
The clinic provides basic health care for our resident children who are affected or infected with the HIV/AIDS virus.
In addition to the resident children the clinic serves members of the surrounding communities. The nearest medical facility is over twelve kilometers away for those who can travel and afford the services. Mustard Seed’s health clinic is the only place to access health care for most people in the local community.

Joel's Place
Mustard Seed Communities’ newest home in Zimbabwe is named after Joel, one of the first children with disabilities who came to Mustard Seed. Joel arrived at the home only a week old and passed away seven months later. He will always be remembered.
Joel's Place provides a home to eight school age children, half of whom are disabled.
Joel's Place also draws its inspiration from Joel 2:21-27 which says, "The Lord gives abundantly and fends for those who trust in him."
