Hogar Immanuel Dominican RepublicMustard Seed Communities’ home in Dominican Republic, Hogar Immanuel, is home to twenty children with disabilities; ages 2 to 17 years old. In addition to spending time with the children of Hogar Immanuel, the mission program includes working with the poorest among us; children and adults who live and work in and around the Sosua garbage dump.

Located in the neighborhood of Congrejo, the home is five minutes from the Puerto Plata airport. Missionaries stay at the Metro West Mission House which is located in Cofresi, forty-five minutes from Hogar Immanuel. Males and females sleep in separate dorm rooms each with their own bathroom and outdoor shower. A single room is available for clergy. Missionaries are responsible for preparing their own breakfast and will help pack lunch to go; a cook prepares dinner for the group. The maximum group size is 24.

 

Kingston, Jamaica

Sophie's ChapelKingston, Jamaica is the starting place of Mustard Seed Communities. There are several homes and communities that make up the mission experience when coming to Kingston. Mission housing is located at Sophie’s Place just outside of Kingston. Sophie’s Place is home to 22 children with disabilities.

The mission dormitory is divided into two rooms to accommodate males and females. There are separate bathrooms for each gender. The kitchen and community dining area are located on the same floor as the dorm rooms. Breakfast foods are provided and the group prepares their own meals. Lunch and dinner are prepared by our cook. The maximum group size is 23 keeping in mind that there are 12 beds in each dorm. A single room is available for clergy.

 

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Jamaica Blessed AssuranceMustard Seed Communities’ home in Montego Bay, Blessed Assurance, is home to over forty children with disabilities; ages 2 to 17 years old. It is also home to pregnant teens and new mothers and their babies.

On a mission trip to Montego Bay, missionaries stay at Blessed Assurance during their entire trip. This provides an opportunity to establish close relationships with the children. The mission dormitory is divided into two rooms; one for males and one for females. There are separate bathrooms for each gender. The kitchen and community dining area are located downstairs from the dorm rooms. Breakfast foods are provided and the group helps in preparing the food; lunch and dinner are prepared by our cook. The maximum group size is 23 keeping in mind that there are 12 beds in each dorm.

 

Nicaragua

Diriamba CottagesMustard Seed Communities’ homes in Nicaragua are located outside of Managua. Our homes, Hogar Belen — Managua and Hogar Belen Diriamba are home to children and young adults with disabilities; ages 2 to 22 years old. In addition to spending time with our children, the mission program includes working with the poorest among us; children and adults who live and work in La Chureca, the Managua City Dump.

On a mission trip to Nicaragua, missionaries stay at Hogar Belen — Diriamba in our mission house. The mission house is divided into two dorm rooms to accommodate males and females. There are separate bathrooms for each gender. The kitchen and community area are located downstairs from the dorm rooms. Breakfast foods are provided and the group helps in preparing the food; lunch and dinner are prepared by our cook. The maximum group size is 24 keeping in mind that there are 12 beds in the male dorm and 14 beds in the female dorm. A single room is available for clergy.
