Gifts in Kind
Very little — almost nothing — goes to waste at Mustard Seed Communities. When in kind items are received, great efforts are made to ensure that each and every item is put to use where it is needed most.
In kind items reach the communities of Mustard Seed in two ways. Containers are shipped filled with necessary items of goods to our various locations. Filling a container is a great way to build and encourage community involvement in your parish, school or neighborhood. Missionaries also often bring in kind goods when they travel to Mustard Seed. Shipping costs are prohibitively expensive, so when missionaries pack in kind donations in their luggage it is invaluable.
The needs at Mustard Seed are constantly changing; however we are always in need of diapers. Diapers remain one of our greatest needs; we are in need of diapers in all of our locations and in all sizes, from infant to adult. Diapers are costly, thus it is incredibly helpful when we receive them in kind.
$23 provides one day’s supply of diapers to the children at Hogar Belen
$30 provides one day’s supply of diapers to the children at Hogar Immanuel
$60 provides one day’s supply of diapers to the children in Jamaica
$330 provides diapers to all of the apostolates in Jamaica for one day
$420 provides a week’s supply of diapers to the children in Jamaica
Mustard Seed Communities and the children we serve thank you for taking the time to do this back-breaking and time-consuming work. Every item received is one less item that we need to purchase, freeing up funds for medicines, food, to pay caregivers and the many other needs that cannot be donated in-kind.
