My Story:
Hi everyone, my name is Alejandro. I get to go to school most days in town. It's a little scary because I have to leave Hogar Belen Diriamba to go to school, but I enjoy learning all the new things. My favorite subject is math. I really love all 12 of my classmates, but most of all I love my teacher because she is so nice and very helpful.
I am very active around Hogar Belen Diriamba. I will help out with chores and I like to stay busy. I have lots of friends like Jose Adan, Louis, Omar and Becker. I really like Sunday's and going to church because I love to pray and I always say a special prayer for my mom. I love my mother very much. She visits me very often. The days she comes I am the most happy. She watches me make crafts, dance, play ball or whatever I'm doing. Speaking of dancing, when the mission volunteers come I love dancing with them! And you know what? I'm pretty good at it! Come visit and see my moves! It will be a blast!
See you soon, Alejandro
My Background:
Alejandro and his mother were homeless and living on the streets. While on the streets he was abused by gangs and eventually exposed to drug abuse that caused brain damage. He was taken to a government home and then transferred to Mustard Seed Communities Nicaragua by the government in 2009. He has now been reunited with his mother who suffers from Parkinson's disease. She still keeps in touch and will visit when she can but the travel and expense make that very difficult for her.
