In a year which marks the 30th anniversary of Mustard Seed Communities, a new home opened in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Blessed Assurance, our 12th apostolate in Jamaica was opened on Friday, January 18. Children from our homes in Kingston, Jamaica attended the grand opening and entertained in grand style playing the steel drums and singing in sign language. It was a celebration of the good that has been done through Mustard Seed Communities over the past 30 years and a celebration of the good that will be done at our new home.

Blessed Assurance is located on five acres of land in Windsor Lodge, St. James, just outside of Montego Bay. With the addition of this home, Mustard Seed Communities will be able to serve marginalized children in the north western part of Jamaica. Blessed Assurance provides care and shelter for children with severe disabilities. Children living with HIV/Aids will also find comfort and care at this new location. The home will also provide pregnant teenagers with the assistance they need. Blessed Assurance will ultimately provide a home to seventy children.

With the addition of Blessed Assurance, Mustard Seed Communities will now be able to provide even more service opportunities for mission groups who come to Jamaica to serve our children.

We are thankful to all of our generous supporters and donors who helped make Blessed Assurance a reality. We are thankful to our staff for all their hard work and dedication to our purpose of "caring for the most vulnerable". We are most thankful to our good and gracious Lord for providing for all of our needs.
