Volunteers and Missions

What is a mission trip?
A mission-trip leader will coordinate all aspects and prepare each of the missionaries for the incredible experience. These trips are open to anyone, and every faith denomination, and NO prior experience is needed. In fact, the overwhelming majority of missionaries are those who have never tried anything like this before. Regardless of the level of experience, each person receives a tremendous gift of peace and fulfillment for having stepped outside their "comfort zone" and followed God's call.

What do we do?
We specifically serve the Mustard Seed ministries already established in third world countries. Depending on the type of mission trip, the daily activities differ slightly. However, everyday includes daily mass, rosary prayer, three meals, physical labor, and personal time with the needy children. While the purpose of the mission is to benefit the children, the activities vary depending on the need. Sometimes the daily activity may focus focus on painting murals, houses, or children's face painting. Sometimes it will include hammering wall boards and cutting framing boards. Sometimes it will include pulling weeds and cleaning bathrooms. Whatever the project, you can be assured its rewarding because you're doing it solely for the benefit of those in need. Short term mission trips are generally 7 or 8 days in length.

What other mission opportunities exist?
In addition to the traditional short term mission trip executive "come and see" weekends are a great option for those that want to see Mustard Seed up close but cannot spare a whole week. There are several of these scheduled throughout the year. For those who feel called, long term volunteer programs are now available. If you have skills needed by Mustard Seed and you are able to commit to a year of service this option is available to you.

How do I go on a mission trip or become a Long Term Volunteer?
