Mustard Seed Communities has a number of support organizations in the United States and Europe. Oversees volunteers have for many years played an important role in sustaining and developing Mustard Seed. Using the volunteer route is an attractive way of bringing on broad new skills, abilities, experiences and points of view.

Mustard Seed is continually on the lookout for suitably experienced and qualified people who would be willing to dedicate themselves to Mustard Seed Communities for a minimum of one year.

These groups known as Friends of Mustard Seed provide various levels of assistance to the organization.

The objective in setting up overseas Friends is to extend the supportive environment beyond the boundaries of Mustard Seed's local communities. Being an NGO in a developing country Mustard Seed relies on the different branches of its overseas friends to provide it with resources such as skilled manpower, financial support and material resources.
